‘Rewriting the Bible’ and calling Israel’s war ‘shameful’: Pope Francis’ changing views on Israel and the Jewish People
Laurie Cardoza Moore was featured in a recent Jerusalem Post Article where she expressed concerns regarding Pope Francis and his changing attitude towards Israel and the Jewish People. Pope Francis suggested the global community study whether Israel’s military campaign in Gaza constitutes a genocide of the Palestinian people. This, coupled with the nativity scene featuring baby Jesus wrapped in a keffiyeh that was unveiled at Pope Francis’ Nativity Scene and Christmas Tree inauguration this past December triggered a response from Laurie Cardoza Moore.
“Let’s be clear. The Pope can’t rewrite the Bible – Jesus was a Jew from Judea, not a Palestinian. He was born to a Jewish mother in Bethlehem, in Judea – there was no Palestine,” Moore responded.
