Journalist’s Attacks Reveal Bigger Agenda Beyond Florida

FRANKLIN, TN – What’s up with Bess Levin? In two recent articles for Vanity Fair magazine, writer Levin maliciously skewered Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. She attacked his Florida civics education initiative in the first story, and then came after his Stop W.O.K.E. (Wrong to Our Kids and Employees) Act in the second. She charged DeSantis with being on a “one-man crusade to turn (Florida) into an uninhabitable hellhole.”

The W.O.K.E. Act codifies the Florida Department of Education’s prohibition on the teaching of Critical Race Theory (CRT) in K-12 schools and prohibits school districts, colleges and universities from hiring CRT consultants.

“Bess Levin is misleading her readers,” commented Laurie Cardoza Moore, founder and president of Proclaiming Justice to The Nations. “Her blatant attacks show a bias and ill intent that goes beyond Gov. DeSantis. There is a larger agenda at work as she attacks the foundations of America and its Judeo-Christian history and heritage.”

When she was a homeschooling mother of five, Cardoza Moore courageously stood before the Williamson Country School Board in Franklin, Tennessee, and challenged them to remove antisemitic textbooks, which implied justification of terrorist attacks in Israel by Palestinian extremists.

Because of the efforts of Cardoza Moore, textbook publishing giant Pearson Publishing aka Savvas Learning Company, removed the offensive and inaccurate content. Cardoza Moore is now a member of the Tennessee Textbook and Instructional Materials Quality Commission.

“Now is the time to stand for truth about the history of this great nation and fight for our children’s future,” Cardoza Moore said. “Articles like the ones written by Bess Levin reveal the mindset of many who want to indoctrinate our next generation of leaders.

“Write letters to the editor of your local newspaper, attend your school board meetings and become vocal on social media about the need for accuracy in the way we teach U.S. history,” she continued. “Silence is not an option to these left-leaning narratives. Dietrich Bonhoeffer said it best, ‘Silence in the face of evil, is itself evil. God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak, is to speak. Not to act, is to act.’

“Our children deserve to know the truth about this country and its founding principles. It is up to you and me to ensure that.”
