PJTN Stands Firm in Support of Israel Against Biden Administration’s Declaration on Israeli Settlements

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Proclaiming Justice to The Nations (PJTN) Stands Firm in Support of Israel Against the Biden Administration’s Declaration on Israeli Settlements.

(Nashville, TN) – February 26, 2024 – Proclaiming Justice to The Nations (PJTN), a leading advocacy organization committed to standing with Israel by fighting the propaganda war, strongly opposes the recent decision by the Biden administration to restore a legal finding that deems Israeli settlements in Judea and Samaria as “illegitimate” under international law.

The Biden administration’s announcement on Friday, February 23, reviving a nearly 50-year-old legal determination, has drawn criticism from PJTN. The ongoing disputes between the U.S. and Israel regarding the expansion of Jewish settlements in Judea and Samaria have been a persistent issue, with occasional shifts in policy during the Trump administration.

“Biden and Blinken have forgotten there Sunday School lessons and the eternal covenant given to Abraham by God in Genesis 13:15 where it states For all the land that you see I will give to you and to your seed to eternity.” says Laurie Cardoza Moore, President of PJTN. “Even the Catholic Church itself recognized that promise during The Second Vatican Council’s declaration of Nostra Aetate.”

In response to a recent terrorist attack on the outskirts of Jerusalem on Thursday, February 22, where one Israeli civilian was killed and several others wounded, the Israeli government announced plans to construct over 3,000 housing units in Judea and Samaria. PJTN emphasizes that the contested land rightfully belongs to Israel and the Jewish people, both biblically, according to international law and archaeological evidence. The acquisition of Judea and Samaria during the 1967 Arab-Israeli War further solidifies Israel’s claim.

Key Points:

  • Biblical Support: PJTN highlights the biblical principle that God blesses those who bless Israel. The organization calls for unwavering support for Israel during conflicts, such as the recent war with Hamas, and discourages yielding to international pressure for land concessions in the pursuit of peace.
  • Land for Peace: PJTN asserts that Israel should not reward terrorism by giving up land for a false peace. The recent construction announcement by the Israeli government is seen as a response to acts of terrorism and a commitment to protecting its citizens.

“The Biden administration’s characterization of Israeli settlements as ‘illegitimate’ under international law is outrageous and it only undermines Israel’s security,” says Cardoza Moore. “We firmly believe that settlement expansion is crucial for Israel’s strength and resilience.”

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken expressed disappointment, stating, “Settlements are counter-productive to reaching an enduring peace and inconsistent with international law. Our administration maintains a firm opposition to settlement expansion, and in our judgment, this only weakens, it doesn’t strengthen, Israel’s security.”

“Obviously Antony Blinken has forgotten that there was an attempted two state solution and it didn’t work. The attempt in 2005 was called Gush Katif.” stated Cardoza Moore in response to Blinken’s remarks. “What was the response back then? More rockets, more violence and more terrorists attacks against Israeli citizens.”

Proclaiming Justice to The Nations calls on the Biden administration to rescind its position and reiterates its unwavering support for Israel’s right to sovereignty and security.
